Meet Eric

And his heifers, tomorrow's dairy cows

Eric talks about heifers, tomorrow's dairy cows

Do you know what a heifer is?

In order to produce milk, a cow must first give birth to a calf. Cows that have not yet borne calves are known as heifers.

In this episode, Eric Trévien, a Paysan Breton dairy farmer in Sainte-Sève in Finistère gives us the lowdown on his "teenage" cows. Every day, Eric checks that his cows are growing properly assisted by a nutritionist from the cooperative. He supports them from their first steps towards adolescence and throughout their adult lives to ensure they produce the quality milk used in delicious Paysan Breton products.
