Our commitments
Local economy
The quintessential local brand!
There's no question of our products being sourced from anywhere but Brittany and Pays de la Loire. This guaranteed origin applies both to our milk and our manufacturing sites.
Basically, we're tied to our local area. Our 7 manufacturing sites can be found in the following locations in Brittany and Loire-Atlantique:
- Landerneau (Finistère)
- Ploudaniel (Finistère)
- Créhen (Côtes-d'Armor)
- Yffiniac (Côtes-d'Armor)
- Lanfains (Côtes-d'Armor)
- Pont Scorff (Morbihan)
- Ancenis (Loire-Atlantique).
Our 4,800 members' farms are also located in Brittany and Pays de la Loire. Most of our milk is sourced from our cooperative farmers who own Paysan Breton. However, some of the milk used to manufacture our products comes from other farmers in Brittany and Pays de la Loire, whose farms are close to our manufacturing sites. Since quality is a non-negotiable for us, this milk must meet Paysan Breton specifications for hygiene and food safety and, just like Paysan Breton farmers, these farmers are also subject to the Good Farming Practices Charter with its commitments on traceability, herd health and healthy feed, animal welfare, and environmental protection.
These farms are often family businesses passed from one generation to the next. Between our farmers and employees, we provide livelihoods for nearly 10,000 families in western France.
Moreover, our desire to go that step further than other brands means:
- 99% of our ingredients are sourced from France.
- We are also highly committed to our region. For instance, we have been an active member of the Produit en Bretagne (Produced in Brittany) network since its inception. This organisation encourages people to consume locally and promotes Breton jobs, expertise and companies.
- Moreover, wherever possible, we work with local service providers and suppliers.
