Our commitments
Animal welfare
Whatever's good for the cows is good for the quality of the milk they produce.
Every day, our Paysan Breton farmers take good care of their cows, ensuring they are calm, perfectly healthy and well-nourished (with much of their fodder produced on farms or sourced elsewhere in France).
- Moreover, Paysan Breton cows get to graze 200 days a year on average!
- They are never tethered and, when indoors, benefit from well-ventilated, naturally lit cowsheds.
- All our farmers sign the Good Farming Practices Charter, which is a prerequisite for us.
- Our cooperative producers' farms are small and manageable, with an average of 80 cows per farm, so the farmers can get to know each of their cows and ensure their welfare.
- Over half of assessed farms have taken additional measures to improve animal welfare including mats on the cowshed floor, cow brushes and essential oil massages.
